By Ann Kioko | CitizenGO

World Congress of Families African Regional Conferences was recently held in Malawi. CitizenGO was a co-sponsor Regional Conferences that brought together pro-family and pro-life individuals from around Africa and abroad to discuss best practices and fellowship together.

A session going on at the Sun Bird Capital Hotel in Lilongwe-Malawi.

The Malawi Regional Conference brought together an impressive array of speakers, including the catholic Archbishop of Malawi, Thomas Msusa who passionately spoke against the Pregnancy termination bill which is in Malawi's parliament and also about the commitment of the church of Malawi to defend Life and Family.

The event in Malawi was an exceptional one as it brought together policy makers, members of academia, opinion shapers, media , Bishops/ Clergy and Members of Parliament to get to discuss the African Family. There was also a huge participation of other African countries and leaders of NGO's , dinner with members of parliament and Bishops and a meeting with the Vice President of Malawi, Honourable Saulos Chilima.

One of our Goals as CitizenGO is to grow our participation in Africa and co-work with local NGOs to help them achieve their goals through signature collection. During this conference, we reached out to many NGOs and pro-family leaders as we educated them about our work. We also recruited young volunteers to help in exhibition at our exhibition table which had put up at the conference venue to provide more information.

During the conference , I also listened to presentations and met with individuals and organizations who work with CitizenGO in our quest to defend the family. It was a very productive and beneficial conference for CitizenGO especially with our new office in Africa.
