The Osun State Coordinator of the National Youths Service Corps,(NYSC) Mr Emmanuel Attah, has called on prospective corps members to be sincere and truthful in declaring their health status.

This according to him would help in no small way in giving clear direction to medical personnel on necessary attention individual corps member requires in order to avert emergencies.

Attah gave this charge ahead of the orientation exercise for Batch ‘B’ corps members, slated for November 21, 2017

Attah, who was at the permanent orientation camp at Ede, to ascertain the level of preparation and condition of facilities at the camp on Friday, gave the charge while fielding questions from journalists.

He opined that the well-being of corps members and staff alike remains pertinent to the scheme, saying that measures are in place to ensure the safety of every individual at the camp during and after the exercise.

“I am imploring every corps member deployed to the state to declare his or her health status truthfully as this will go a long way in helping the scheme to nip any medical issue in the bud, and it will also help management of the scheme to be proactive.

“This will not put any corp member at disadvantage, as nobody will be deprived the privilege of serving or not participating in the orientation course, but will simply enable medical personnel on ground to know how to deal with corps member that needs medical attention during the three-week exercise”, he said.

While acknowledging the synergy with the management of Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital,Ile-Ife and Redeemer’s University, in ensuring adequate medical care during the orientation course, Attah, however, admonished corps members to carefully maintain facilities at the camp.
