Court remands 2 over alleged armed robbery in Osun

A Magistrate Court in Osogbo, Osun State, has remanded two persons in Ilesa prison custody, over alleged armed robbery.

The duo included Anifowose Biliaminu aged 25 and Azeez Lukeman aged 32.

The Magistrate, Ashiru Ayeni, ordered that the accused be kept in prison custody due to the magnitude of the offense committed.

Prosecutor Duro Adekunle, had earlier told the court that the accused persons committed the offense on October 11l, 2017 at about 7:30p.m along Ataoja estate in Osogbo.

Adekunle said that the culprits conspired to rob one Bamisaye Olayemi and carted away some of his belongings.

He said the duo took away one iPhone 6, jewelries, two techno phones, ATM cards, international passports and the cash sum of N280,000.

Adekunle said the accused also had in their possession a gun and other dangerous weapons during the time of robbery.

The prosecutor said the offense contravened sections 1(1)(2),5 of the robbery and firearms ( special provision) Act cap R11 vol.14, laws of the Federation, 2004.

The accused however pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against them.

After the Magistrate's ruling, the case was adjourned to December 5 for mention.
