Mbaise Nation Honours Imo Deputy Gov

The Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere, yesterday, enrolled into the prestigious Hall of Fame of Mbaise Nation, conferred with the revered title of Ohamadike Mbaise by the entire traditional rulers of Mbaise Nation.

The Ohamadike of Mbaise nation title conferred on the Deputy Governor by Mbaise Council of Traditional Rulers was superintended by the 19thChairman of Mbaise Council of Traditional Rulers, HRH Eze Chidume Okoro at his palace in Amano, Obohia in Ahiazu Mbaise local government area with the approval of the Traditional Rulers of Mbaise nation.

Conferring the Chieftaincy title on the Deputy Governor, Eze Okoro stated that the honour was in recognition of Madumere’s unrepentant love for the people of Mbaise nation and his avowed resolved to always stand on the path of honour, thereby earning himself a pride of place in Owerri zone and Imo State at large.

According to the traditional ruler, Madumere has stood by the people of Imo State electing himself as our advocate. This can be deduced from some of the important rescue mission projects sited in Mbaise nation in which he has played oversight supervisory function. He added that Madumere has religiously identified with Mbaise nation by his presence and contributions. Among one of the major Mbaise event he has consistently attended is Iri Ji Mbaise national cultural festival for the past five years at the instance of the Governor.

The royal father recalled how the deputy governor stood on the part of justice and ensured that Imo State university campus was is located at its permanent location at Mbaise –Ngor Okpalla, a display he described as rare and greatest, promising a huge pay back from Mbaise nation.

Eze Okoro stated that it was in consideration of the numerous contributions of Madumere to the development of the area that the traditional rulers of the various autonomous communities in Mbaise decided to recognize him with highest chieftaincy tittle in the land.

He said that Ohamadike is a title reserved for ranking sons, relations and friends of Mbaise who have distinguished themselves in their chosen career or business and have used their achievements to touch the lives of the people.

Contributing, HRH, Eze Morrison Eke of Umuoma Nekede and Secretary of traditional rulers in Owerri Zone gave nod to the honour, adding that it is well deserving.

He described Madumere as a tree planted by the river side that bears good fruits, pointing out his service to God and humanity is unquantifiable.

In the same vein, HRH, Eze Oliver Ohanwe from Isiala Mbano local government area in Okigwe zone of Imo State stated that Madumere is exceptional, pointing out that his character has been unquestionable and does not have not any baggage of corruption.Eze Eke added that Madumere has attended greatness with high moral standing, adding that the deputy governor deserves more great honours.

Meanwhile, the Traditional Ruler of Umuowa in Orlu local Government, HRH, Eze Marcel Duruigbo, Igbonenye IV described Madumere as a special breed who has, in humility, helped his boss, Owelle Rochas Okorocha to succeed, saying that it is rare to have such an obedient personality to serve for over two decades. He opined that Orlu people are grateful to him for being a great son to them. He however added that whosover that has worked must get his reward.

He commended the Council of Traditional Rulers of Mbaise for looking the way of Madumere for a deserving honour.

Responding, Madumere recalled that his real character was molded during his school days at Enyiogugu high school, adding that his good relationship with Mbaise people can never be severed.

Thanking the traditional rulers for the honour, he urged them to continue to support and pray for the rescue mission government.

His words; ‘’I am highly delighted for the honour done to me. Perhaps, what I am today may not have been possible if I had not passed through the academic and character tutelage from Enyiogugu Secondary School, Aboh Mbaise. I have maintained flourishing relationship with you all not just as friends, associates but as brothers. This is the reason everything that concerns Mbaise concerns me. So, for me, Mbaise is a home to me. When you cry, I will cry; when you laugh, I laugh, your course will be my course. I will ever remain grateful to God for preparing us as partners in progress;” he submitted.

Dignitaries that graced the occasion include are members of Imo State House of Assembly - Hon Ifeanyi Nnataronye of Mbaitoli Constituency, Hon. Uche Oguwike of Ikeduru Constituency, Hon. Ngozi Obiefule of Isu, Hon. Arthur Egwim of Ideato North and Hon Donatus representing Oru West State Conctituency and the Royal fathers led by HRH, Eze Peter Opara from Mbaitoli local government area of the State.
