A socio-political group, Osun New Era Group (ONE-G) has appealed to the leadership of the ruling party, All Progressives Congress, APC, at all levels to bury their sheath and close ranks in the interest of democracy and development of the state and countryin general.

Speaking at its inaugural meeting held in Osogbo, Osun State Capital, the State Coordinator of the group, Raheem Jamiu cautioned leaders of the party against consistent in-house imbroglio within the party saying its affecting the chances of the party in delivering dividends of democracy to people.

He also called on all members and supporters of the ruling party in the state to consider the various ongoing developmental projects as their main parameter to select the successor to Governor Rauf Aregbesola.

Jamiu who noted that the party has fulfilled all its electoral promises to the people of the state despite the economic down turn stating that the current government has even done more than what it promised during the electioneering campaigns.

The coordinator of the new group who maintained that it is necessary for the party’s members and supporters to ensure that the right choice is made in selecting the successor to Ogbeni said that the call became imperative in order to ensure continuity and stable economic development in the state.

The group in a communique issued and made available to The Nigerian Voice in Osogbo on Tuesday, said party’s immense contribution to the state development since Governor Aregbesola’s inauguration in 2010 has remained unequalled since the state was created in 1991.

The group further advised that the numerous developmental strides of the current administration in the state will amount to nought should an unworthy successor take over from Aregbesola.

The coordinator of the group also emphasised the need for the state’s electorate to consolidate on the ongoing developmental projects initiated by the Aregbesola administration.

The group leader enjoined the residents and indigenes of the state to continue to support the APC-led administaration, especially in face of the current economic recession across the country.

Members of the group also eulogised the state Governor Aregbesola on the recent commissioning of the ultra-modern Ilesa Government High School and transferring the completion of Ido-Osun Airport to Turkish firm among various others located across the state noting that all the infrastructural projects are endurable ones.

Members and supporters of the party from across the 30 local government councils and newly created local government development areas attended the meeting.
