Man, 22, remanded in Prison for allegedly stealing electricity wires

A Magistrate Court in Osogbo, Osun State has ordered a 22-year old man, Adebisi Idris, to be remanded in Ilesa Prison Custody for allegedly stealing electricity wires.

Prosecutor Olayiwola Rasaq, told the court that the accused committed the offence on 28th October, 2017 at about 11:39 pm at AgoAyo area in Osogbo .

Rasaq said the accused unlawfully enterred into the apartment of one Adekola and cartered away electricity wires valued N100,000.

He said the offence committed contravened sections 411, 390(9) of the criminal code cap 34, volume II, laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2003.

He added that the accused should be denied bail so as to prevent him from alerting his accomplices who are still on the run.

The accused who was not legally represented, however pleaded guilty to the first count charge and not guilty to the second count charge preferred against him.

In her ruling, Magistrate Aishat Oloyade ordered the accused to be remanded in prison and adjourned the case to December 4, 2017.
