A Magistrate court sitting in Osogbo, Osun State has sentenced a spare parts dealer, Akeem Wahab to three months imprisonment for buying parts of a motorcycle believed to have been stolen.

Prosecutor Olayiwola Rasaq told the court that the accused unlawfully received one unregistered "B" moto motorcycle from one Samson Mufutau knowing fully that it is a stolen property.

Rasaq explained that the offence contravened section 430 (1) of the Criminal Code Cap 34, volume II, Laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2003.

In his plea, the accused pleaded guilty to the charge levelled against him but his counsel, Barrister Okobe Najite implored the court to temper justice with mercy.

In his judgement, Magistrate Ashiru Ayeni sentenced the accused to three months imprisonment with a fine option of N5,000.

The accused was however paid the fine option and was discharged.
