IEI HOCKEY: FLICKERS COACH CRITICISES PLAYERS

By NBF News

Kaduna Flickers players received knocks from coach Elisha Ahoun after the team fumbled at the Savannah Assembly of the ongoing IEI National Hockey League on Tuesday.

Kaduna came back from a goal down to draw 1-1 against Nagwamase of Niger State at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.

Speaking after the match, Ahoun urged his team to step up their game when they encounter Katsina Flickers on Wednesday.

Kano State, which lost 8-0 to Niger on Monday, came back strongly on Tuesday to beat Nasarawa 1-0 to remain in contention for the four slots from this assembly.

FCT Abuja also slumped to a 1-0 defeat to the Police Hockey Club.

Nasarawa will however have to clean up their act against Niger on Tuesday to remain in contention after dropping their first two matches.

In the women's event, Police and Plateau State are still looking good after snatching victories from Kaduna State and Bauchi respectively.
