ABUJA, May 25, (THEWILL) - The Senate has listed for debate a bill seeking to establish a fund to take care of unemployed graduates and the aged across the country.

The bill sponsored by Senator Anyim Ude (PDP) Ebonyi State seeks to set legislative framework for the establishment of agencies for the provision of social security for such categories of people in the country.

It also seeks to make provisions for the streamlining of activities of existing social support organizations in the country and set guidelines for their operations.

The bill if passed would give additional legislative incentives to existing job creating agencies including the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) National Poverty Eradication Programme (NAPEP) among others.

The proposed law has been listed for debate at second reading level within the week.
