Court Remands Teen In Prison Over Alleged Assault

An Osogbo Magistrate court presided over by Chief Magistrate Fatimo Sodamade has ordered that an 18-year old teenager, Nuhu Abdullahi be remanded at Ilesa Prison Custody over alleged assault.

Police prosecutor, Ajayi Sunday told the court that the accused person allegedly inflict injury on the right eye of one Basiru Muhammed on the 26th of April, 2017 at Sabo area in Osogbo.

He added that the offence committed by the accused person is contrary to and punishable under sections 355 and 516(A) of Criminal Code Cap 34, volume II, Laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2003.

The accused person who had no legal representative in court, pleaded guilty of the charge against him.

In her ruling, Chief Magistrate Sodamade ordered that the accused person be remanded at Ilesa Prison Custody and adjourned the case till the 27th of July, 2017.
