Buhari Appoints Osinbajo To Head Probe Of Pine, Nia That Caused Lawal, Oke’s Suspension
SAN FRANCISCO, April 19, (THEWILL) – President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed that his deputy, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo to spearhead the probe into violations of law and due process in the award of contracts under the Presidential Initiative on the North East, PINE, for which the SGF, Babachir Lawal, was suspended.
He added that the Vice President will also take charge of investigations into the circumstances in which the National Intelligence Agency, NIA, came into possession of the funds recovered by the EFCC from Osborne Towers in Ikoyi, Lagos.

The NIA Director-General, Ambassador Ayo Oke, was earlier on Wednesday suspended just like the SGF pending the outcome of the investigation.
In a message on his Twitter handle on Wednesday evening, Buhari said, “His (Osinbajo’s) Committee will report back to me within 14 days”.
