BEVERLY HILLS, April 05, (THEWILL) – Speaker of the Lagos House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa has revealed that former governor of the state and national leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu started his political career from a Barbers shop at the densely populated Agege area of Lagos.

He stated this when members of the Lagos House of Assembly converged on the floor of the Assembly complex to shower encomiums on Tinubu and review activities organised to mark his 65th birthday.

Obasa pointed out that he needed to put the record straight following the claim by the Deputy Speaker Sanni Eshilokun that the former Lagos governor began his political career in Lagos Island.

The Speaker categorically declared that, “Asiwaju started his political career from a barber's shop in Agege”, adding that the APC bigwig has made an immense contribution to his own political career.

He observed that the height of the birthday celebration was the colloquium at the Eko Hotel where dignitaries from all over country including past and serving governors attested to the role played by Tinubu in their lives.

The House Committee Chairman on Information and Strategy, Hon. Tunde Braimoh, representing Kosofe Constituency II, who had raised the issue for deliberation under Matter of Urgent Public Importance, described Tinubu as a phenomenon and an enigma in the present generation.
