A socio-political group, Asiwaju Grassroots Foundation (AGF) has warned the National Assembly not to drag the personality of the National Leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu into its political mess and display of madness.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the group National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Adeboye Adebayo and made available to journalists on Tuesday.

The group cautioned the Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki and his colleagues not to drag the personality of the APC leader (Tinubu) into the political mess being displayed by the upper chamber of the National Assembly.

The AGF condemned in its entirety the pace of foot-dragging and arm-twisting that had become the order of the day at the National Assembly.

It lamented over what it described as unscrupulous the collective attitude of legislature in both House of Senate and House of Representatives in recent times.

AGF also decried on what it termed 'political ridicule of the highest order', and said the members of the National Assembly have disappointed Nigerians and as well reduced the respected Red Chamber to a mere Bukola Saraki's enterprise.

According to the statement, “As a formidable socio-political foundation in the country, we are watching with keen interest the unfolding events and drama at the National Assembly, most especially in the House of Senate.

"We are aware that a caucus of the Senate is pointing an accusing finger to our Principal (Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu), but we want to state clearly and loudly that any attempt by any caucus of the Senate, the Senate in its entirety or the National Assembly as a body to drag the name of our Tinubu into their display of madness shall be met with swift resistance because we will never allow anybody to disrespect such a wonderful personality under any guise.

"Tinubu remains National Leader of our great party (APC) and the most patriotic leader that has sacrificed a lot for the success of our party.

“As a matter of fact, we are not bothered by the recent activities of the Senate because the current drama in the National Assembly is a reflection of our stand as our political camp has been thoroughly vindicated.

"Nigerians can recall vividly the saga of budget missing, budget doctoration and budget padding at the House of Representatives and refusal of Bukola Saraki led House of Senate to confirm the EFCC boss, Mr. Ibrahim Magu because of many fraudulent cases involving Saraki and some other criminals at the Senate.

"As it is, happenings in the National Assembly has reflected the assertion held by the majority of Nigerians that the Senate is a house of fraudulent people just as their debates were described as glorified beer parlour talks.

"So, we are not bothered about their actions but what will bother us is any attempt to drag the good name of our Principal into their madness."

The AGF therefore called on President Mohammodu Buhari and the National Working Committee of the APC to save the face of the party and as well rescue Nigerians who are at the receiving end of the National Assembly's madness.
