ISU CLAN FETES OKOROCHA, MADUMERE ON DEVELOPMENT STRIDES

... AS THEY HONOUR MADUMERE AS "ENYIOHA OF ISU CLAN"

The Traditional Rulers and people of Isu Clan have commended the Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha for his monumental achievements since the inception of Rescue Mission Government.

The people of Isu made these commendations yesterday during the 'Launch of Maiden Royal Almanac' organised by Isu Council of Traditional Rulers led by HRH, Eze Edwin Orisakwe, which held at Isu Local Government Headquaters, Umundugba, Isu Local government area of Imo State.

During Chairman's remark, Chief Cosmas Maduba expressed excitement for the gathering, which has 'who is who' in Isu clan in attendance, describing it as unifying and progressive.

While commending Governor Okorocha for his developmental strides, he thanked Prince Madumere whom he described as a great friend of Isu for his presence, standing-in for Governor Okorocha and for himself, which he said is an honour and high regard for Ndi Isu.

In his address, the Chairman of Isu Council of Traditional Rulers, HRH, Eze Edwin Orisakwe, urged the Deputy Governor to extend their profound gratitude to Governor Okorocha for the good work he is doing in Imo State. He enumerated some of his major achievements such as construction of 27 ultra modern General Hospitals in the 27 local government of Imo state, building of the 305 one storey block of six class rooms in 305 wards of the State, provision of free education with free desks and seats, school uniforms, free sandals among others. He further listed establishment of Community Government Council, State Development Council as he commended Governor Okorocha for uplifting the status of Ndi Eze for building by creating portfolios for them and constructing state-of-the-artTraditional Rulers Palace at Mbari local government of Imo State.

Talking about Imo Deputy Governor, , he eulogised him for his supportive role to Governor Okorocha, which he said has brought about a harmonious relationship and stability in the system. He extolled Madumere for his loyalty, humility, administrative prowess and integrity with which he has brought to bear in his supportive roles to Governor Okorocha.

In his response, Prince Madumere described the event as grand and well attended by people of all layers, signifying the unity of the people.

He thanked them for supporting Owelle Rochas Okorocha led administration, assuring them of the resolve of the administration to continue to make life better for its citizenry through infrastructural development and empowerment.

He asserted that Governor Okorocha has achieved what no other Governor has ever done for Imo State. He added that he is always proud to talk about Governor Okorocha especially with what he has transformed Owerri into, which he described as Small London, among Okigwe and Orlu zones.

He also said he is proud to see the teeming population of the youth taking advantage of Owelle Rochas Okorocha led Rescue Mission Free Education programme.

Further is an emotional laden tone, he said; "I appreciate the long-standing relationship I have enjoyed with the people of Isu as their personal friend, which is built on mutual understanding, cooperation, respect for each others values with strong attachment to principles we both share. Today marks the re-invigoration of our enviable friendship. As your Deputy Governor, whenever you knock on my door, it will be opened without unnecessary red tapes and protocols."

Highpoint of the occasion was the "Honour of Recognition " conferred on the Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere as "Enyioha of Isu Clan" by the Council of Traditional Rulers led by HRH, Eze Edwin Orisakwe. The plaque of Hpnour was handed over to Imo Deputy Governor by Eze Imo, HRM, Eze Sam Agunwa Ohiri, Chairman, Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers. Eze Orisakwe said the honour was in appreciation of the quality of the personality of the Deputy Governor and his unchanging loyalty and support for Governor Okorocha's success story.
