BEVERLY HILLS, March 9, (THEWILL) – Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State has described the stand of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) against the planned rally in support of President Mohammadu Buhari as Idiotic, arguing that one of the recognized corporal work of mercy is visiting the sick.

Obiano, speaking during the inspection of the Ogbaru-Atani-Ogwuikpere road said since his people of Anambra State cannot visit their president in London, one of the ways to demonstrate Christian virtues is by the rallies such as being organized in Anambra State.

He acknowledged that his government supported the rally insisting that by offering his support, he would be close to the Federal Government and will be able to attract federal largesse to Anambra State and for his people.

On the veiled threat by IPOD to disrupt the rally, Obiano wondered whether they would stop it by their bare hands, describing the organization as a toothless bulldog which is capable of words but incapable of action and being used by a few to enrich themselves under the guise of fighting for Igbo freedom.

Questioning the rationale behind IPOD stand against November 17th election, Obiano said that the implication was that they are planning anarchy and perhaps state of emergency in Anambra State.

“With this their position, it has been proved beyond doubt that IPOB is populated by youths who are at best misguided,” he said.

“If they dare us, we shall tell them that blood is thicker than water and that rear tires can never overcome the front ones.”

Obiano also urged parents to properly guide their wards and children who belong to IPOB or face the wrath of the law which he said “may not be pleasant.”Anambra Governor, Obiano Slams IPOB
