By Kenneth Orusi, The Nigerian Voice, Asaba

If the rumour making the round is anything to go by, the United Bank of Africa (UBA), Nnebisi Branch by Igbuzor Junction in Asaba, the Delta State capital, may face serious litigations.

It was learnt that the deceased (bank customer), Mr Anayo Nwani of Inyaba, Ishielu local government area of Ebonyi State, had discussion with the bank management of his intention to deposit the yet undisclosed sum of money into his bank account yesterday (Sunday) but was allegedly instructed to do today (Monday) when he met his untimely death.

Investigation revealed that one of his younger brother, Onyenma Awani alleged that the deceased left the popular Ogbegonogo Market in Asaba, where the deceased has two Provision Shops to the house to collect the money before dashing to the bank at about 7:00 am, “that was the time he was asked to come to the bank this morning”, he purported.

It was alleged that the bank may have completed plans with their outside cohorts to carry out their nefarious activities on the deceased.

Another version has it that the bank may have allegedly instructed the mobile police officers attached to the bank to desert the bank premises for an uninterrupted operation by the hoodlums owing to the fact that their car was parked a kilometre away from the bank along Umuago road.

Investigation disclosed that the deceased, a father of two, is married to Catherine Nwani and are expecting their third child when the cold hands of death snatched him from them.

Contacted for further details, the image maker of the Delta State Police Command, DSP Andrew Aniamaka, pleaded with our correspondent to give the police more time to enable them get to the root of the matter, “it is a case of murder, give us time and we will reach back to you”.

it would be recall that The Nigerian Voice reported this morning that a three man armed robbery gang who laid siege on a customer of the United Bank of Africa (UBA), along the ever busy Nnebisi Road by Igbuzor Junction Asaba, the Delta State capital killed a yet to be identified bank customer.
