Police Rearrests Child Trafficker In Delta

The Delta State Police Command has rearrested a gang of child trafficker, one Abigail Nwakam, popularly known as Madam Cash who has sent quivering to many families in the state and across.

This was made known to press men Thursday by the Commissioner of Police, Mr Zanna Ibrahim, at the headquarters of the Command in Asaba, the state capital.

Madam Cash and her gang are specialized in the kidnap and sales of children.

According to Ibrahim, “one Moses Illoba age 7, of Okpanam was kidnapped. One Abigail Nwakam and one Ifeoma Anyadike were arrested”, revealing that their arrest led to the recovery of the victim with the aid of the second suspect.

The police boss said, investigation has also led to the arrest of their other associates in crime which include Emeka Ofodozie, Augustine Isiegune and Anthonia Onwuegbusis in Anambra State.

He also noted that 4 years old Chimobi Emmanuel Sunday who was kidnapped at 9 mile Enugu State was recovered from one of the syndicates, Emeka Ofodozie even as the CP said investigation is on top gear.

It would be recall that Madam Cash was arrested sometimes last year over same crime.

The grandmother of the recovered child, Mrs Okwueze Josephine disclosed that her grandchild was kidnapped by Madam Cash last year.

Hear her: “he was kidnapped at Okpanam on the 30th of August 2016 by Madam Cash and her group and was brought back last Thursday. He was dropped in front of the police headquarters after six months”.

She noted that his kidnappers took him to Port Harcourt just as she revealed that his whiskers changed the child’s name from Moses Illoba to Uchena Chimobi.
