By Japhet Omene

The Organization for Global Youth Peace Empowerment and Development Initiative (OGYPEDI) has condemned Thursday’s attack on Innocent Nigerians by Boko Haram insurgents in Maiduguri, Borno State, describing it as desperation on the remnants of the Boko Haram to remain relevant.

OGYPEDI in a statement made available to journalists in Osun State on Friday by its National Coordinator, Mr Japheth Omene however urged the army and other security agencies not to be deterred but to redouble their efforts in ensuring that the terrorists who fled the Sambisa forest are apprehended.

Also on the same vein , the South West coordinator of the group Mr. Oladunjoye Ifeoluwa therefore urge the military to remain focused, ignore distractions and speed up its pursuit of these terrorists as their crime is no lesser than those they empower to blow other Nigerians up.

According to him, Nigerians must remember that the key in stopping Boko Haram from regrouping remains vigilance, stressing that better results would be achieved if the nation act as one and not divided regardless of our religious, ethnic or geo-political differences.

We appeal to the Federal Government to improve on intelligence gathering and to provided needed funds to the Army and other security Agencies.
