NIGER STATE : Proposed Cattle Market to Boost State IGR, Create Job Opportunities

A proposed and already ongoing cattle market at Edati LGA of Niger State when completed is said will assiduously boost industrialisation and trade in the Local Government and State at large as well create job opportunities, bullet-speed the State’s Internally Generated Revenue to mention but a few.

The economic development was disclosed by Alhaji Zubairu M. Isah, Edati's council chairman when the Niger State Commissioner of Investment, Commerce and Industry , Hajiya Ramatu Mohammed Yar’adua paid a working visit to Inspect some projects in the Local Government Area.

The Commissioner applauded the initiative, describing it as a stupendous idea coming at the right and appropriate time considering efforts made by the progressive administration of President Muhammadu Buhari’s and Governor Abubakar Sani Bello's call for economic diversification.

She added that, economic initiatives of such magnitude play vital roles in improving both human productivity, community development and most importantly attract consumers from within and outside Niger State.

She spoke further that, the Governor Abubakar Sani Bello's administration has created a business friendly environment for economic transformation while adding that, she is always available and ready to support initiatives, economical inclined especially championed towards economic diversification, commerce and job creation for "our teeming Youth" she stressed. .

Asma’u Ahmad of HEALTH REPORTERS reported that, Dr. Wapada Balami, a director in the ministry presided over the session on behalf of the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Health, Mrs. Binta Bello. Issues discussed by the Council during the session include ; policies relating to leadership, service provision as well as health care financing and research in Nigeria.

In Nigeria, the National Council on Health as provided for in the National Health Act is the highest policy making body on matters relating to health in Nigeria. It comprises

the State Commissioners for Health of the 36 States, the Secretary of Health &

Human Services Secretariat FCT, with the Honourable Minister of Health as the

Chairman of the Council.
