STELLA DAMASUS, NGOZI IWEALA HONOURED

For her unflinching roles and contribution towards the development of film industry known as Nollywood in Nigeria, the hard-working, highly creative and dedicated team player Stella Damasus-Aboderin was honoured recently alongside the former Finance Minister, now Foreign affairs, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and 18 other recipients.

Stella is being honoured in Igbo Women Role-Model Leadership Awards 2006 as a Member of Honour of Igbo Women who is creditably doing well in her career like Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala who is equally making a statement as a public office holder. The Real Women of Virtue, a Non-Governmental Organisation in conjunction with The Frontliners International packaged this unique moment of social gathering where prominent personalities in all sectors of socio-economy teemed for the prestigious honour at the Lagos Sheraton Hotels and Towers last Thursday.

Amongst the notable awardees are, professor Dora Nkem Akunyili who was recognised for her enviable career and unquantifiable contribution to national growth and development. Professor Miriam Odichenzo Clark, princess Stella Ada Ogiemwonyi in recognition of her distinguished contribution to Nigeria economy and philanthropic activities towards the less privileged in our society, Bishop [Dr] Peace Okonkwo for her concerted effort towards alleviating the suffering of people in despair. Others are, Dr. Mrs. Uche Azikwe, Comrade [Dr] Nkiru Peace Obiajulu, Lady Onyeka Akuchukwu
Onwenu, Mrs. Grace Ifeoma Adiche, Barrister [Mrs.] Eunice Ekwutosi Adiele,Chief Mrs. Evelyn Chinyelu Ude. And also, Princess Stella A. Odife, Mrs. Chinwude Egbuchunam actress Patience Ozokwo [Mama G], Mrs. Eucharia Chinyere Ebigbo, Actress Ngozi Ezeonu and Mrs. Adaora Anyika.

The screen goddess Stella Damasus Aboderin was not only applauded during the reading of her citation but was commended for her tactful and sense of diplomacy especially in analytical and problem solving skills. The boss of Enyobi Nigeria Ltd the importers and makerters of Elixir-9, Chief Obinna Nwamerue, presented her the plague of honour.
