Kaduna Declares 24-hour Curfew In 3 Lgas

BEVERLY HILLS, December 21, (THEWILL) – The Kaduna state government has declared a 24-hour curfew in three local government areas in the state.

This was disclosed by Samuel Aruwan, Spokesman to Nasir El-Rufai, Governor of the state revealing that the affected local governments are Zangon-Kataf, Kaura and Jema'a.

He said the decision was arrived at the state Security Council meeting adding that security agencies have been ordered to arrest and prosecute any individual or group that violates the curfew.

“Furthermore, the security council urged security operatives to ensure best practices in enforcing the directives,” he said in a statement.

THEWILL recalls that there has been religious tension in Southern Kaduna in recent times in which dozens have been murdered including one Aliyu Muhammad, a driver, murdered in Kafanchan.
