Lagos School Pupils Forfeit Their Launch To Put Smile On Faces Of Soldiers

The pupils and students of Children International School Lekki, lagos has donated a daily care packages to the troops of the Operation Lafiya Dole fighting Boko Haram insurgents in the North-east.

Presenting the items to the GOC 7 Division of the Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Victor Ezugwu, the leader of the delegation, Bhila Kiphani said they decided to donate their token to support the troops in the war front, as in most cases people only think of the Internally Displaced Person (IDPs) than those fighting the insurgents.

He said “gift is our own way of saying thank you for protecting us. The children aged two, three and four years sacrificed their launch to appreciate the military in the fight against insurgents in the North-east”

He called on other Nigerians to extend their helping hands in supporting the gallant troops, stressing that their action will help in boosting the morale of the soldiers, as they fight to end the insurgency

While receiving the items, the GOC 7 Division, Brigadier General Victor Ezugwu said “since our existence in this theater of war, this is the most emotional presentation, as under aged pupil could remember our gallant officers fighting Boko Haram terrorists and put smiles on our faces, it is really a morale booster, particularly in this season of yuletide.

He said he will convey this gesture to the Cief of Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Buratai and prayed that future leaders and generals will emerge from the school and assured the pupils that they fight the insurgents until they exterminate them.

He also called on Nigerians and cooperate bodies to emulate the good example of the CIS Volt club, as putting smile on the faces of soldiers does not require a lot of resources.
