Osinbajo, Tinubu, Oyegun Saraki, Others Grace Buhari’s Daughter’s Wedding

SAN FRANCISCO, December 16, (THEWILL) – President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday at the State House Banquet Hall inside the Presidential Villa in Abuja held a colourful wedding reception for his daughter, Zahra, who earlier in the day got wedded to Ahmed Indimi.

The event attracted dignitaries from across the country and beyond, including: the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the National Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief John Oyegun.

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara also graced the event.

The wedding Fatiha had got underway after the Deputy Chief Imam of the National Mosque, Sheikh Ibrahim Makari, performed the two Jumma'at Prayers in Abuja.

A representative of the groom (Indimi's) family paid 12 gold coins which was converted and valued at N250, 000 as the amount for the dowry as the Sarkin Fulanin Daura, Alhaji Yusuf Sani, gave out Zahra on behalf of the family of the President.

State governors who attended the reception were  Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna, Godwin Obaseki of Edo, Yahaya Bello of Kogi, Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos. Others were Ibikunle Amosu of Ogun, Simon Lalong of Plateau, Rochas Okorocha of Imo,  Abdullahi Badaru of Jigawa, Ben Ayade of Cross River, Samuel Ortom of Benue, Aminu Masari of Katsina, and Aminu Tambawal of Sokoto.

Giving the vote of thanks at the end of the reception, the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo thanked the guests for finding time to grace the event.

Speaking with State House correspondents at the end of the occasion, Tinubu congratulated Buhari on his daughter's wedding even as he wished the newly wedded couple a happy married life.
