Hon. Mohammed Danlami Attracts Federal Projects to Dutsin-ma/Kurfi, Assures Constituents of Portable Water, Other Amenities
Assurance for the good people of Dutsin-ma/Kurfi Federal Constituency of Katsina State to get clean, safe and portable water is on the way, just as their representative at the House; Hon. Mohammed Kurfi Danlami redeemed his promise of attracting Federal projects to his community who are in dire need basic amenities.
Records show that the level of water supply in Dutsin-ma/Kurfi Federal Constituency is very poor. The situation is pathetic in the rural areas where water is either scarce or costly when it is available. Many trek several kilometres every morning and evening in search of water while others depend on polluted water from ponds, stream, rainwater and floods for domestic use, thereby increasing health hazard.
In a statement made available to the media on Thursday and personally signed by Hon. Mohammed Kurfi Danlami who is also the deputy chairman, House Committee on Petroleum Resources Downstream, he stated:
''During the period of my electioneering campaigns, I told the people of Dutsin-ma/Kurfi Federal constituency that if elected as Member of House of Representatives, I will liaise with federal government, seek their support so as to meet the needs of my people at home, my constituents whom I am representing at the National Assembly.
''We are all aware of inadequate water supply which is one of the major social problems affecting quality of life in my constituency, as a result of this, I recommended this to the federal government as part of my constituency projects, thankfully I succeeded in putting it in the 2016 budget which hopefully will sail through. I believe this will nip in the bud problems of unavailability of water resources to the people for domestic use and irrigation for farming in my constituency.'' The statement said.
The statement also reads further:
''Here is the break down of the project for clarity:
1. Construction of new Zobe irrigation project worth N340,885,600
2. New water supply project worth N25,000,000.
3. Electrical and mechanical works for Zobe phase i and ii water supply worth N155,000,000
4. Transmission intervention i.e from Dutsin-ma hill tank (main) to Katsina and from hill tank to 8 LGAs for Zobe phase i and ii, this is worth N200,000,000.
5. Booster stations works and storage for Zobe phase i and ii this is also worth N250,000,000
6. Operation and maintenance of Zobe irrigation project worth N25,955,200.''
The federal lawmaker assured his constituents that the projects would be accordingly monitored by him, maintaining that he would ensure that it is completed in due course. Hon Kurfi however admonished the people not to renege in giving their support, prayers and love to the government of All progressives Congress both in Katsina State and at the Federal level so that more developments can reach the the people especially those at the grassroots.
His words, ''I will ensure I keep good track of the projects for the benefits of my people. Once again I urge the good people of Dutsin-ma and Kurfi Federal Constituency to keep supporting the President Muhammadu Buhari's administration and that of Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari, the Executive Governor of Katsina State; with our supports and prayers, they will surely succeed.'' The statement concluded.
