The embattled Commissioner of Police in-charge of Police works Department, Mr. Victor Onofiok at the centre of alleged N1.9bn corruption scam has implicated 2 former IGPs according to an impeccable source at the EFCC.

The discrete investigation, professionally conducted on the serving Police Commission paid off when the EFCC investigators discovered and stitched together, monumental evidence linking the Works Commissioner to fraud amounting to over 1.9 billion naira. The investigation according to our source took months of painstaking deployment of "access control and entry detection" to unveil the scam.

The EFCC investigators are beaming their searchlight on the latest revelation by CP Onofiok of the involvement and collaboration of two former IGPs. The names of the former IGPs are being kept secret by the investigators.

The Nigeria Police Works Dept is the most corruption-ridden Department in the force. Many Police contractors have not been paid since 2006 for jobs dully executed while funds are made available for their payments. Some of the contractors have died as a result of that while some officers in the Dept are multi-millionaires.

IGP, Ibrahim Kpotun Idris has declared war against every form of corruption in the force, pledging to root out officers found to have compromised their positions. His words were marched with action when he released a serving Police Commissioner, Mr. Victor Onofiok to be further investigated by the EFCC.
