SAN FRANCISCO, December 04, (THEWILL) – The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has concluded investigation on at least five judges for corrupt practices and is set for their trial.

Of the six judges under probe by the EFCC, only Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia was arraigned last week while there are indications that Justices Mohammed Nasir Yunusa; Hyeladzira Ajiya Nganjiwa; Musa Haruna Kurya; Agbadu James Fishim; and Uwani Abba Aji, would be arrainged in a few days.

THEWILL gathered that the Federal High Court and the National Industrial Court (NIC) are working on re-assigning the cases being handled by the justices before their arraignment in line with the directive of the National Judicial Council (NJC) which ordered the judges to stay away from sitting pending the outcome of their trial.

Also, some of the lawyers, who aided and abetted such bribe offers for the judges were interrogated and are likely to go on trial as charges are being preferred against them.

Meanwhile, the EFCC has seized the passport of the detained Commissioner of Police, Onofiok Victor, who has been detained in connection with alleged N1.9billion fraud.

THEWILL recalls that the suspect, who is the CP for Works Department at the Force Headquarters, was detained in connection with an ongoing investigation for alleged N1.9billion fraud.
