Cjn To Swear In Two New Supreme Justices On Monday

BEVERLY HILLS, December 02, (THEWILL) – The National Judicial Council (NJC) has revealed that two new Justices, Sidi Dauda Bage, and Paul Adamu Galinje, will join the Supreme Court bench on Monday .

The NJC in a statement on Friday revealed that with the addition, the number of Justices of the apex court will be increased from 15 to 17.

The statement ‎by the NJC's Acting Director of Information, Soji Oye, said the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen, would swear in the two jurists on Monday.

“President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, has approved the appointment of Honourable Justice Sidi Dauda Bage, and Honourable Justice Paul Adamu Galinje, as Justices of the Supreme Court of Nigeria on the recommendation of the National Judicial Council,” the NJC's statement read.

“The two Honourable Justices will be sworn-in by the Acting Honourable Chief Justice of Nigeria and Chairman of the National Judicial Council, Hon. Justice W. S. N. Onnoghen, CFR, on Monday 5th December, 2016 at 2.00 pm in the Supreme Court of Nigeria.”
