2018 FIFA World Cup: All is not perfect with Super Eagles — Rohr

By The Citizen

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr said he is seeking perfection in every aspect of the national team chasing qualification for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

The Super Eagles currently lead group B of the qualification series featuring Algeria, Cameroon and Zambia with four points clear of closest rival Cameroon. The Eagles will face the Indomitable Lions back to back August next year, and Rohr stated that his team needs to perfect its acts before those games that might just seal the ticket.

'We must have a stronger team in certain positions, we have some problems, we must be honest about this. Not all is perfect, there is still a lot of work to do in some positions, but we must find better solutions,' said Rohr.

However, he stated that the national team players are highly motivated and focused on making the 2018 World Cup, after missing the 2015 and 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

'They are very motivated. To qualify for Russia is more than a dream, it is something they want to have, they missed another AFCON, that is difficult for a big country like Nigeria,' said the Franco-German coach.

'They are hungry, they want to go to World Cup and because they are young, they don't have so many titles, experience in international football.' - Vanguard.
