SAN FRANCISCO, November 25, (THEWILL) – Former factional candidate of the PDP in Ondo governorship election, Jimoh Ibrahim has launched a surprise campaign for the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate in the election holding today ( Saturday ), Rotimi Akeredolu.

Jimoh Ibrahim was the candidate of the PDP in the election until on Wednesday when the Appeal Court dismissed his claims to the state ruling party's governorship ticket.

Taking to his Twitter handle @JimohIbrahimOFR on Friday , the businessman wrote; “The people of Ondo have no choice than to Love Akeredolu

“I know him as a selfless politician with peerless leadership.

“I can see #OndoLoveAkeredolu everywhere. Why won't the people of Ondo Love Aketi? He's a consistent politician with first class integrity.”

These tweets is coming a day after the Supreme Court threw out Ibrahim’s appeal against the judgement of the appellate court which sacked him as candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

His support for the APC candidate seemingly confirms the allegations that he and his co-travellers in the Ali Modu Sheriff faction of PDP were out purposely to destroy the party or are agents of the APC.

An earlier video had shown Ibrahim saying that his legal battle to fly the PDP flag was meant to stop the Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko, from installing his protege as governor.

He expressed gladness that he distracted Mimiko and Jegede, insisting that the party will not win on Saturday .

According to the sacked candidate, “Election will be held on Saturday . No matter what they do, it’s gone.

“Mimiko is just wasting his time. There’s nothing he can do.

“I decided deliberately lock him up and waste his time for three weeks…took him out the state, destabilized him.

“Now I have released him…two days to the election. He is dancing naked,” Ibrahim said gleefully.
