Buhari Greets Atiku At 70; Says He Admires Ex-vp’s Courage

SAN FRANCISCO, November 24, (THEWILL) – President Muhammadu Buhari has felicitated with a former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, as he clocks 70 years on Friday, welcoming him to the septuagenarian club.

According to a statement issued on Thursday by presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina in Abuja on Thursday, Buhari in a letter personally signed by him stated that he had over the years admired the courage of the APC stalwart.

The President, who said he was delighted to welcome Atiku “to the 70s club,” prayed that Allah would grant him “many more years of good health and service to Nigeria.”

“Over the years, I have admired your courage and doggedness in defending your interests and your generosity in promoting education.

“The American University in Yola is one of your noble legacies, and my hope and wish is that it will endure,” he said.

Buhari, who sent his “kind personal regards”, maintained that he and Atiku should be grateful to Allah, who has granted them grace to be in the 70s club.
