Ondo election: Jimoh Ibrahim, Sheriff lose as Supreme Court throws out suit

By The Citizen

The Supreme Court has thrown out a suit filed by Senator Ali Modu Sheriff and Jimoh Ibrahim.

The Supreme Court said it could not hear the suit based on the initial arguments except the parties re-file it based on the ruling of the Court of Appeal on Tuesday.

Sheriff and Ibrahim are seeking their recognition as the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party and the party's governorahip candidate for the Ondo State November 26, 2016 respectively.

On Wednesday, the Special Panel of the Court of Appeal threw out their suits seeking to invalidate the National chairmanship of Senator Ahmed Makarfi and governorship candidacy of Eyitayo Jegede.

But before that ruling, both Sheriff and Ibrahim had headed to the Supreme Court.

This latest development has further deemed the hope of Jimoh Ibrahim camp of being the PDP gubernatorial candidate in the forthcoming Ondo State governorship election.
