Enugu: How we're able to pay salaries regularly amid recession – Gov. Ugwuanyi

By The Citizen

Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has been commended for his remarkable leadership resulting in Enugu's emergence as one of only three states in the country that regularly pay workers' salaries.

The rector of the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Prof. Austin Nweze, gave the commendation on Wednesday in Nsukka.

The governor in his response attributed the feat to the grace of God, noting that it also stemmed from prudent management of the state's lean resource.

A recent report published by BudgIT listed Enugu, Lagos and Rivers as the only states in the federation still able to meet their recurrent needs.
