BEVERLY HILLS, November 08, (THEWILL) – ‎The Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld the election of Seriake Dickson as governor of Bayelsa state.

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in that election, Timipre Sylva, had challenged the victory of Dickson, alleging in a petition filed  at the tribunal that the election was marred with irregularities.

Sylva asked the tribunal to declare him the duly elected governor.

But having lost at the tribunal and appellate court, the former governor of Bayelsa headed to the nation’s apex court.

‎At the Supreme Court, a panel of justices led by Tanko Ibrahim affirmed the judgements of the tribunal and the appellate court regarding the Bayelsa guber poll.
