Delta Group, Umu Anioma, Appoints Anthony Awunor As Media Director

BEVERLY HILLS, November 07, (THEWILL) – Emmanuel O. Ohai, convener of Umu Anioma Worldwide, a group made up of indigenes of Anioma in Delta State, has announced the appointment of Anthony Okechukwu Awunor as its new Director of Media and Communications.

Ohai said that Awunor, who writes for a Nigerian Newspaper as its Business Editor, has a great track record in Media and Public Affairs and brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience.

With a B.A. in Linguistics from University of Lagos, Akoka, Nigeria, Awunor had his secondary school education at St. Anthony’s College, Ubulu Uku and was a member of the 1987 set.

“Awunor becomes the Head of Media and Comunications Secretariat of the Umu Anioma Movement at a time when the rate of change and Anioma resurgence is at a crucial juncture,” Ohai said.

“As we continue on this journey to emancipate all our Anioma peoples, it is of great importance that we ensure that we communicate more effectively how it is we deliver value to our 2 million plus Anioma sons and daughters Worldwide.

“I am pleased that Anthony Awunor will be at the heart of this, leading efforts to increase our visibility, raise global awareness of our great Anioma people and heighten the profile of our work in serving Anioma people.”

Ohai reteriated that Umu Anioma Foundation Worldwide, with bi-sect headquarters in Asaba and Atlanta, Georgia U.S.A, is a non-religious, non-for-profit socio-cultural organization which is not affiliated with any political party.

“Our mission statement is to organize, educate, activate and advocate for the social, cultural, political and economic emancipation of the people of Anioma, Delta state and the Nigerian civil society at large,” he said.
