Women Convention: Uyo Lga First Lady Solicits More Prayers

Akwa Ibom women have been urged to continue to pray and hold unto God in all they do and to also intercede for the peace and prosperity of the State.

Mrs. Bridget Ben, Wife of Uyo Local Government Transition Committee Chairman who made this call during the 2016 Women Convention held at Holy Ghost Ambassadors Ministry International, Ekpaya Street, Uyo, with the theme "I never lost my praise" charged the women to always sacrifice time to pray for their families and the society.

While speaking, she attributed the successes recorded by the State Government over the past year to the prayers of women, urging them not to lose their faith in God as He alone can make all things possible. “When women pray, things change” adding that, a praying woman is always a winning woman and that when they win, praise will never lost on their lips.

Mrs. Ben beseeches the women to show love to all manners of people who come their way not limited to members of their families and household. Advising the women to be good Christian mothers “Every woman is a mother to all, we should rise up to the challenges of womanhood by being a good mother not only to our children but to other children out there who do not have where to belong”.

The Uyo LGA First lady also charged the women to always be willing to lend their shoulders to the needy children in the society “I’m asking those of us who God has bless to take up responsibility to sponsor other less privilege children in school by assisting them in the payment of their school fees, giving them books, feeding and provision of medicals”, noting that being a woman is beyond wearing skirt and tying of wrapper “A beauty of a woman is seen not only on the outside but also in the inside through love. Women are the instrument of peace, love and unity in the society”.

According to her “A Christian mother does not necessarily have to be a millionaire in other to touch lives but we can also show love and kindness by visiting the aged; helping them in cleaning their environment, give them our clothes and fetch water to them; by this, they’ll feel loved and our society will be a better place to live.”

Mrs. Bridget Mfon Ben frowned at parents who delight in giving out their wards to people for house helps outside the State, saying the conditions to which these children are subjected to, is appalling. She advised the women to desist from the act, but rather should strive to carter for them, adding that God will provide for their upkeep.

In a brief exhortation by the founder/senior Pastor of the Church, Apostle Nyeneime Andy preaching on the theme of today harped on the efficacy of the word of God, saying in His word, there is power. He stated that the saving grace lies in God’s word and encouraged the congregation to devout more time in serving God.

Referencing the book of Exodus 14:1-30, the cleric said the unstoppable God who saw the children of Israel through in the land of Egypt, was still present in the State and charged the women to serve God with all their hearts to receive blessings.

As part of the meeting, a handful of women who through the convention meeting have been blessed, testified to the goodness of God in their lives. Prayers were offered for the economy of State and the Country at large. Special prayers were also offered for the Uyo First Lady and family.


Those who created yesterdays pain do not control tomorrows potential.
