Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) and the organisers of the Heritage Bank/Lagos Skoolimpics have ironed out the issue of the name for the catch them young school sports contest.

The NOC had made its reservation known on the title of the event billed to start on November 2. The International Olympic Committee had complained about the infringement on the Olympics rights when the event was named Skoolimpics.

However, an official of Heritage bank submitted yesterday that there was a meeting between the NOC and the organisers  where the issue was amicably resolved.

'It was agreed in a meeting with representatives of NOC on a name change to Skoolimpics. This development has led to the changing of all the brand collaterals.

'The organisation is a law abiding corporate citizen and the one in the forefront of providing direction to the youths. Skoolimpics is a platform aimed at the discovery, nurturing and rewarding of youths talents from the secondary schools with a view of grooming them to becoming national and international sports stars,' said a statement signed by  Igwe U. Igwe.
