Barely two years after it started full banking operations in Cote d'Ivoire, United Bank for Africa (Cote d' Ivoire) Limited has been ranked third among leading banks in the West African country according to a survey conducted among the 20 existing banks.

Société Général CI and Ecobank clinched the first and second positions respectively.

A statement on Saturday said PME Magazine's banking edition, Côte d'Ivoire's top and key economic publication, sampled respondents (bank customers) using criteria such as, account opening, account maintenance fees, credit facility, quality of service, and e-banking services among others, to arrive at its decision.

In the survey, UBA was adjudged third preferred banking brand among other banks established before it.

Commenting on the development, the Chief Executive Officer, UBA Africa, Mr. Rasheed Olaoluwa, expressed satisfaction with the impact the bank was making in Cote d' Ivoire and expressed optimism that the bank would emerge first in subsequent survey owing to its strong fundamentals and professional work force.

Olaoluwa, who was enthusiastic about the bank's bid to ensure sustainable growth and development of the Ivorian economy, also said that the UBA brand was gaining momentum in Cote D' Ivoire, attributing it to the positive public disposition to the bank's business development and customer service initiatives.

He assured customers that his team was ready to surmount the challenges of doing business in the country in order to ensure that it sustained and accelerated the tempo.
