Your Excellency Sir,
With much respect and honour, I write to present
and table to you the sorrow and grief and most
importantly the fear of the thousands of Niger
State students studying in the only university
under your total care and control, IBB University,
Lapai-Niger State - Nigeria.
Sir, it's no longer a news that you declare a State

of Emergency on Education in Niger state and
you had since assumption into office taken major
steps towards ensuring success of education
sector. It is in line with this action that I want to

voice out the gulp of grief that we have been fed
up every year by the action and inaction of the
Ministry of Higher/Tertiary Education through its
Scholarship Board.
Sir, I am writing this through this medium
because all efforts to get to you proved abortive
due to the festive period and the tight schedules
you always have. But I am sure, this will get to
you through your aides whom you appointed to
serve you in as a Press Secretary, Mallam Jibrin
Baba Ndace, Head of ICT, Mr. Abdulberqy Umar
Ebbo and many others. Only when it gets to you
that you will know the tears of your children and
wipe away their tears which is your duty. It's
your character. It's in you.
Your excellency Sir, I hope you're in good mood

and good condition. I opted to write you this
immediately after my school released the 2016/
2017 proposed Academic Calendar. The calendar
showed that the university will be officially open
on Monday, 17th October, 2016. And that shows
that registration will began at the same period.
Sir, since then, students mini-hypertension and
blood pressure almost got high for most of them
do not know where to get the money for the
registration.
Your Excellency Sir, it may interest you to know
that since I was admitted into this unmatched
University, the indigenous citizens never for once
benefited from either scholarship or sponsorship
as the case may be from the State Government
despite the fact that our colleagues from other
universities including the most closest Federal
University of Technology, Minna, get these
privileges every year non-stop. Sir, we all wonder
why on earth should other students from other
schools benefit from the sponsorship scheme
and we, the good students of the famed Niger
State University don't benefit from same? Sir, we

want to believe you are NOT aware of this.
Sir, you may also like to know that many
Nigerlites citizens who were our friends had to
opt out of the university simply because they
can't afford to pay themselves. We know them,
sir. It pains us but how can we help? Almost
little or nothing. We are losing them every year.
Your excellency Sir, we are all certain that you
don't know the current predicament ailing us.
You don't know that our large and small
intestines started rumbling for the news of
resumption for the session, instead of thrilling
and getting excited to resume to school. You
don't know that our dear state is losing potential

students every year because their parents are
either poor or do not care and so cannot pay the
huge registration fees. You don't know that since

I got admission into this prestigious university in

2014, no student ever benefit from the
scholarship or sponsorship scheme.
Now that you know, we are very sure, as a father
and a leader with listening ears, you will do
something emergency with your emergency heart
through your emergency hands to sooth the balm
on our back. We believe you will through your
emergency actions, order the Scholarship Board
to give us sponsorship just like they give to our
colleagues at FUT, COE, Niger Poly, FLAGS and
other universities.
We await glad news as this blessed letter hit
your blessed desk.
May Allah continue to guide and elevate your
status as you steer the leadership of Niger State
through the right direction.
Long live Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello
Long live IBB University
Long live Niger State Government
Long live Federal Republic of Nigeria
