Open Letter To Mr Ahmed Kuru, The Md Of Amcon

Source: thewillnigeria.com

Mr Ahmed Kuru,
These are the incontrovertible facts.
AMCON is a major shareholder in Aero Contractors of Nigeria.

AMCON appointed the incompetent chief executive of AERO, Captain Fola Akinkuotu, a man who was sacked from his former post as the head of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority.

Under Mr Akinkuotu’s stewardship, AMCON accepted monies from intending passengers and then abruptly suspended operations without issuing full refunds.

Rather, the airline locked its offices and made a vague promise to refund customers with valid tickets.

In fact, Aero Contractors was still selling tickets even though its management (which includes AMCON) was aware that it was going to suspend operations.

This is a clear case of fraud and in any decent country, the chief executives of AMCON and AERO would have tendered their resignations.

AMCON is liable for the unethical and fraudulent actions of AERO and its incompetent management.

We demand that AMCON and AERO issues full refunds to all customers who had booked tickets prior to the “suspension” of the airline’s operations. This should be done immediately and without equivocation.

This kind of corporate malfeasance is unacceptable in the twenty-first century.

If AERO and AMCON continue to play games, then we will take this matter to the Nigerian legislature and also institute a lawsuit against AMCON and AERO Contractors.

Thank you.
***Anthony Eze Secretary, the Consumer Project on Behalf of Customers of Aero Contractors of Nigeria.
