Adegoroye Joins Ondo Guber Race, Picks Nomination Form
A prominent politician and former member of the Ondo State House of
Assembly, Prince Ademola Adegoroye has joined the on-going governorship
race in the state on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
In a statement signed by his Director of Media, Mr Dennis Oluwumi issued
in Akure yesterday, Prince Adegoroye, from the royal family in Akure, who
was elected on the platform of the Democratic Party of Nigeria and later
Alliance for Democracy to the Ondo State House of Assembly precipitates
his desire to restore hope and dignity of the people of Ondo State.
“At this critical stage of the history of our state, we need tested and
trusted hands to man strategic political positions in the state in order
to bring a rebirth and restore the dignity of our people who have been
degraded by poor management of resources,” the respected lawyer who once
practiced at the Wole Olanipekunn Chambers said.
Adegoroye said though the battle for the number one seat in the state
remains a tough one, he said a clear study of the current spate of affairs
especially as it affects the economy, education, health and human capital
development requires great attention.
The former lawmaker who is a member of the State Strategy and Mobilisation
committees
contested the gubernatorial election in 2007 on the platform of the Action
Congress and came third behind Dr. Segun Agagu of the Peoples Democratic
Party and Dr. Olusegun Mimiko on the Labour Party said he would bring his
mastery of governance and grassroots politics to the fore when elected.
“I have what it takes to govern the state and revamp its economy, its
mineral deposits, especially the bitumen in the state and pursue the
state's development in consonance with the provisions contained in APC
manifesto” he said.
While counting on the support of party leaders and members in the state
and throughout the country ahead of the primaries, Prince Adegoroye said
Akure, which produces a huge percentage of votes in the previous elections
should be given the priority to produce a governor of the state this time
round.
