Inter-Faith Mediation Centre Kaduna Launch Out Regional Peace Advocacy In The Country

For peaceful co-existence among the adherence of the two dominant religion in the country, Inter faith medium centre. (IMC), kaduna has launched out a peace advocacy forum that will go round the entire northern region to propagate the message of peace and the need to happily co-exist as people with a bounded entity.

The centre on a training of her personnels in Damaturu Yobe State organised a regional inter-faith and inter cultural understanding between Muslims and Christian on the 28-31th July,2016 With the aim of restoring peace and confidence between member of various religion and cultural groups.

The regional secretary general inter faith community forum, Abdullahi Damare who will hold the secretariat of the centre in the North Eastern region of the country told our reporter in Yola that the forum is having an action plan to go from cities, towns and villages in the whole region for purpose of mediation.

According to him some of their action plan is to have a Peace media advocacy in Primaries schools,Secondary schools and Tertiary institution, forming Peace clubs in all the secondary Schools, Preaching Peace through supports, Towns halls meetings, retreats,workshops and Seminars that has to do with peace building among our variance Cultures, Religion and beliefs.

"The Interfaith Mediation Centre (IMC) is a non-profit, non-governmental faith based organization envisioning an inclusive society free from violent ethno-religious conflicts. We aim to prevent violence and promote trust and relationship building by fostering dialogue among people of different faiths and communities in Nigeria and beyond. Specifically, IMC is a community-based organization that specializes in Muslim-Christian dialogue and mediation", Damare said

It was created by Inter-faith Centre for peace to the community at the grass roots to build up peace bridges created as a result of Wars, religion intolerance, natural disasters and communal Crisis.
