The State Of The Church Today
The body of Christ (church) has been made of "less" or "no" reputation in the world we are in today, The things of this world has blinded the heart of men that they no longer seek after the things of Gods kingdom. Ephesians 4:22 "That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; 23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness".
The Holy Spirit which was the promised of Jesus Christ towards his children which has been given us, he is not going to give us but he has given us and the spirit is living right inside of us. Ephesians 1:13 "In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise".
Gifts of the Holy Spirit and its functions in the church The gift of the Holy Spirit was given to every man not for self interest, but has been given for the following: Edification The act of building up moral, intellectual, and spiritual sense through encouragement and instruction. One of the purpose why the gifts of the Holy spirit is given to every man according to his will, which has been given to every man to edify the body of Christ.
1 Corinthians 14:3 "But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort". But today the gift of Holy spirit that has been given to man for edification of his body has been turned into a profit making oriented business. That is the more reason why most mentors who we are suppose to be looking up to as the gentiles and Jews looked up to the disciples, have lost their calling into the ministry. Question is this: Have you every for one day sit down and ask why God has called you into ministry?
Exhortation: Acts 11:26 "And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch". Another purpose of the Holy spirit to the church is for exhortation ".....will teach us all things and bring all things to our remembrance ......" in this part of the world we are in, lost souls are found in Christ day by day but the question is (Are converts given the right word needed to improve and impact their Iives forever at the situation they have gotten into?), this are some steps the disciples of Christ laid for us to follow after the bible recorded that, when the disciple goes out into the field, there are always lot of harvest and they gather the harvest in the tabernacle teaching them the right word that helps in transforming their lives in the spread of the gospel of Christ.....
Question is this: How many preacher in the world at large is still following the steps of the disciples of Christ ? comfort: God's church a place where every believers must be worry free Matthew 11:28 "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest". Question is this: How many churches are actually giving comfort to believers?.
