The Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Rivers State Chapter, Bro Felix Obuah, has expressed boundless joy and satisfaction over the huge and enthusiastic participation by the people of the Rivers South-East Senatorial district in the Thursday, July 28, 2016, rally of the Party in Bori.

Bro Obuah particularly commended the peoples of Ogoni, Andoni, Opobo/Nkoro and Oyigbo that make up that senatorial district as well as other residents and business operators in the area who defied the heavy downpour to demonstrate their unwavering acceptance and support for the PDP and the Governor Wike led government in Rivers State.

The PDP chairman said the people of the area have further demonstrated and reassured him, Governor Wike and the party leadership that they do not need to entertain any doubt about the resolute position of the people to vote for the candidates of the PDP whenever INEC decides to hold the elections.

He lauded the peaceful disposition and conduct of all participants at the event and the wind of peace blowing across the Ogoni area at the moment, which obviously negates claims by the opposition party, the APC, and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, that the place was unsafe for the conduct of the earlier rescheduled re-run legislative election on Saturday, July 30.

Bro Obuah described the successful hosting and massive participation in the Bori rally as a signal and indicator of the success of the PDP in any free and fair election that would be conducted in the Ogoni area and other parts of the Rivers South-East Senatorial district, restating that the people of the area are most dependable and wise in their decision of being fully PDP.

The PDP Chairman reiterated the averred decision of the Party leadership and that of Governor Wike not to politicize but prioritize the genuine development of the Ogoni communities and the neighbouring LGAs, even as frantic efforts are being made to deliver all electioneering campaign promises by the Party and Governor Wike, some of which include the on-going Saakpenwa-Kono road, renovation of Birabi Memorial Grammar School and the Kpopie- Bodo road, which was awarded to Magnus Abe and he abandoned it.

Obuah, while appreciating the huge contributions by the people of the area to the sustenance of the Party in the State, also appealed for sustained confidence and support of the PDP, urging them not to allow themselves to be deceived by the propaganda, blackmail and outright lies peddled by candidates of the opposition party, the APC, in the area.

The PDP Chairman again condemned in very strong terms the malicious burning of the INEC office in Bori, describing it as a hatched strategy by the APC to achieve its desired postponement of the earlier rescheduled election, blaming it on insecurity, saying PDP is not unaware of the grand plot by the APC to continue to deny the people of the area their right to better representation at all levels of government, assuring that the PDP will resist all of such attempts and ensure all Rivers people enjoy their constitutional rights and privileges.
