The ceremony scheduled for 10 am is expected to attract top All Progressives Congress (APC) Chieftains in the state as well as National officers of GMB from headquarters and South-South geopolitical zone.

A statement released by GMB South-South Media Director, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe said the National Coordinator, Olorogun Igho Osiebe is currently in Akwa Ibom to finalize solid arrangements and to ensure that GMB South-South exco members in that political axis are deeply involved in the inauguration of the state Exco.

He disclosed that Akwa Ibom chapter of the GMB is fully engaged in vocational training of youths and fresh graduates in conjunction with well established technical and professional organizations, corporate bodies and vocational institutions, adding that graduates of the scheme are issued proficiency certificates and assisted with soft loans to start small scale businesses.

He said the GMB Director General is working out strategies with the Federal Ministry of Labour to recognize graduates of the GMB vocational programmes for centralized job placements so as to decongest the labour market in line with President Muhammadu Buhari's job creation policy.

The GMB vocational training and job placement scheme will be implemented throughout the six geopolitical zones within the next one year through the involvement of professional bodies, vocational institutions and corporate bodies in line with their corporate social responsibilities by funding training and providing employment or funds for establishment of medium and small scale businesses for our teeming youths and unemployed graduates, the statement added.
