UTAKA EAGER TO STAY AT PORTSMOUTH

John Utaka would be more than happy to play for relegated Portsmouth again next season and he wants Avram Grant to stay on as boss at Fratton Park.

Utaka pushed his claims for a starting place in the FA Cup final with an energetic display and a clinical goal that helped Pompey nail Wolves and secure only their second Premier League double of the season.

He refused to say whether he felt he deserved a spot in Grant's side for the Wembley showdown against Chelsea.

But he did admit he would be prepared to commit his future to Pompey as they get ready for life in the Championship.

The former Renne striker said: 'I am delighted that Avram has given me the chance to express myself as a striker rather than a winger.

'When you are restricted it is not the same. This way is more enjoyable for me.

'Avram is very good with players, he is open minded.

'It is not up to me to say whether I have done enough to play in the FA Cup final. It is up to the manager to decide.

'But yes, it would be nice if Avram and I were still here at the club next season.'
