Police Get 7 AIGs, 6 CPs, 20 DCPs

The Police Service Service Commission (PSC) has approved the promotion of 4’542 senior Police Officers to their next rank between May and June 2016.

The break down of the promotions are as follows;
CP. – AIG.       7
DC.  – CP.        6
AC.  –  DC.        20
CSP. – AC.       8
SP.   –   CSP.    107
DSP –   SP.       1,431
ASP –   DSP.   1,252
INSP –   ASP.  1,711
Out of this number, the Commission approved special promotion for 16 Officers based on exceptional  performance and dedication to duty on the recommendation of the Inspector General of Police.

Also two Officers were promoted on act of gallantry while 188 others were placed on acting appointment on their next rank.

These promotions and appointments have been communicated to the Inspector General of Police for implementation.

Chairman of the Commission, Sir, Dr. Mike Mbama Okiro, retired Inspector General of Police said the affected Officers should reciprocate government gesture by rede dictating themselves to the service of the nation.

He enjoined them to ensure that they are guided by the approved rules and regulations of the Force and that they operate with the fear of God.

Dr. Okiro said the Commission will continue to ensure that promotion of police men is regular to serve as a tonic for effective and efficient service.

He noted that the Commission will continue to evolve guidelines and programmes to improve efficiency in the Force
