After One Year, I Am Compelled To Do More—Osanebi

By Agbanashi Obinne

The Deputy Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Friday Ossai Osanebi has revealed that he is compelled to do more after one year in office as Deputy Speaker, considering the endless needs of the people, irrespective of the global economic challenge and with what he has to show as achievements in the last twelve months.

Osanebi made the revelation yesterday, at the Divine Way Baptist Church Asaba after a thanksgiving service in honor of the Delta State House of Assembly 6th Assembly 1st Anniversary celebration.

Osanebi noted that the yearnings and aspirations of the people are immeasurable and the needful needs to be done, irrespective of whatever prevailing conditions, saying that failure permits no alibi.

He reaffirmed, that as representative of one of the most poorly developed areas in Nigeria, he needs no encouragement to put in his best; for the realities dawn on him every morning he awakes to the consciousness that he represents a group of people that needs attention more than ever. But noted that Government can only do more and they emboldened to attract more democratic dividends to the people in a peaceful environment.

"why we thank God today for his mercies and love for the last one year, it's also important to reflect on how well we have done our duty in the last one year. I tell you, the place of evaluation can not be ruled out, in the journey to greatness", he said.

"the wants and desires of the people are countless. Even as we thank God for the ones he has privileged us to achieve, we also thank him in advance for the much that needs to be done in the years ahead".

Osanebi also called on well spirited individuals and Deltans, to do their best in order to facilitate the prosperity of all Deltans, saying that the business of development is not for the government alone. He said: " The burden of development is much and mustn't be government's load alone,"

But he affirmed that with God, and the support of the people, they will do more in the coming years.

He also harped on the development and unity of Ndokwa East, as he thanked all that have helped him and the Assembly thus far.

Hear him: "even as we continue to focus on those big things that we have not achieved, we must also have the courage to celebrate the things that we have achieved. One year ago, our people appeared irreparably divided against itself. Today, we have overcome that division and we are able to work with greater unity and fraternity. I want to commend and also congratulate everyone that have made one input or the other, to achieve this feet we celebrate today, ranging from those that have not relented in prayers for us, those that have wished us well, those that have always encouraged us even in the face of difficult challenges, those that have engaged us constructively and those that have criticized us.

On my own side as, I would like to assure you that we would continue to ensure fairness and justice, put in more vigor to attract more to the people looking up to us, as we consolidate on the effort of the Governor and Executive council, to better the life of Deltans".
