Yemi Alade and Wizkid are the two Nigerians who are ready to fight each other for the highly coveted award for “Best International Act: Africa”. The 2016 BET Award nominations saw them on the list. On the International category, Drake is the man of the moment, who is dominating.

This may be the first time that Yemi is being nominated but for Wizkid, he is an old school in the game. Have we forgotten that Yemi came under heat last year for attacking the BET Awards organizers for disrespecting African artistes last year? Well, good for her that she has been recognized.

In 2012, Wizkid picked up the BET award and he was a joint winner with Ghana's Sarkodie in a keenly contested category which featured nominations from fellow Nigerian, Ice Prince; Camp Mulla (Kenya); Lira (South Africa); and Mokobe (Mali).

“I feel blessed and I am thankful to God for making all of this happen,” said Wizkid, who joins previous winners, Tuface and D'banj, on the league of champions of the category.

“To my fans who keep me going, thanks for the love. Thanks to my family for believing in me and letting me live my dreams. Special thanks to everyone at BET. I'm truly honoured,” Wizkid said.
