Army Confirms Rescue Of Abducted Chibok Girl

SAN FRANCISCO, May 18, (THEWILL) – The Acting Director Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman on Wednesday confirmed the rescued of one out of the over 200 students Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, who were abducted by Boko Haram in 2014.

But contrary to earlier reports that the name of the rescued hostage is Amina Nkeki Ali, the Army spokesman gave her name as Falmata Mbalala, adding that she was found in Baale, near the town of Damboa, which is 90 kilometres (56 miles) southwest of the Borno state capital, Maiduguri.

Usman disclosed in a terse statement that: “This is to confirm that one of the abducted Chibok girls, Falmata Mabalala, was among the rescued persons by our troops near Baale, Damboa.”
