Afenifere Salutes Fasoranti @90

With full appreciation to the mercies of Almighty God,Afenifere celebrates with its Leader,Chief Reuben Fasoranti as he clocks 90 on Wednesday,11th May,2016.

Chief Fasoranti is one of the living legends of our nation forged in the fire of the old order of service,integrity,dedication and fidelity to common causes.

The renowned educationalist and proprietor of Omolere Nursery and Primary School in Akure has given so much to the education sector in the country in a very rich career that saw great Nigerians like the late Chief Bola IGE and Prof Akin Mabogunje passing through him when he was a teacher at Ibadan Grammar School.

In the area of politics,he remains one of the oldest surviving disciples of Chief Obafemi Awolowo and his school of principled politics.

He was commissioner for finance in Ondo state when the dogged Chief 'Adekunle held sway as the governor and he duscharged his assignment creditably well to the point that the Ajaosin government was taken to trial thrice by the Buhari-Idiagbon military regime and no indictment found..

The occasion of the celebration of his 90th birthday can only be an occasion to thank God for sparing his life to this ripe old age.

Our payer is for God to grant him many more years in good health and joy.

On the 28th of May,Afenifere will celebrate his life with a public lecture titled "The Welfare Ideology and The Future of Yoruba Nation" to be delivered at The Dome in Akure by one of his Comrades in the Unity Party of Nigeria,Prof Banji Akintoye.The event which would be hosted by the Governor of Ondo State,Dr Olusegun Mimiko will be chaired by famous intellectual,Prof Ladipo Adamolekun.
